Tammy Studied Dance and Choreography at Ryerson Polytechnical University in Toronto and graduated with honors. Tammy is also a member of the World-Renowned Royal Academy of Dance, Dance Masters Of America and A.D.A.P.T. Tammy is often invited to be a guest teacher at various dance studios. She also judges dance competitions throughout Canada. Tammy participates in Continuing Education Programs to ensure that her students are taught the latest technique in Dance.
Tammy has done modeling for Penney Noble Management in Toronto and has appeared in various print ads, music videos and a motion picture movie. She has also danced in various industrial shows. Tammy was also an Argonaut Sundancer for the Toronto Argonauts where she watched them win the Grey Cup.
Tammy has carried her talent and accomplishments to her own studio in Pickering. She purchased Durham Dance Centre fifteen years ago and her studio has grown from a small 700 square feet to more than 7000 square feet. Classes are offered in Kinderdance, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Acro, Stretch, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. Tammy prides herself in educating students from the age 3 and up.
Tammy strives to develop self-confidence, instill discipline, and encourages her students to work as a team. Dancers from Durham Dance Centre have won numerous trophies, medals, overall awards and cash scholarships and have won many Choreography awards. Students have won titles such as Junior Regional Dancer of the year in 1996 and 1997 and Young Dancer of the year 2001 at the American Dance Awards, Miss Dance of Canada 1997, Miss Junior Dance of Canada 1998, Mr Junior Dancer Of the year at American Dance Awards 2000 and 2001, Master Junior Dance of Canada 2000, American Dance Awards Regional Teen Dancer of The Year 2003 and Miss Dance of Canada Chapter #38 2003, Teen Mr. Dance of Canada Chapter # 38 2004 and Most Talented Non-Finalist for Teen Mr. Dance of America 2004, Miss Teen Dance Of Canada Chapter #38 2006, Mr. Dance Of Canada Chapter #38 2006, A.D.A. Regional Young Dancer and Mr. Dance 2007..
Tammy is very proud of her students who have gone on to dance professionally for various cruise lines, Tokyo Disney, Mini, Jr. and Sr. Raptors, Blue Jays, Argo’s and The Rock. Tammy is proud to pass on the passion of teaching dance to many of her students who have now become dance teachers.
Tammy is the Past President of Canadian Dance Masters of America Chapter #38, and is the Past National Director for Miss Teen Dance of America.
